Along with Risoul, Vars makes up the Forêt Blanche ski area, with several villages nestled at the foot of the pistes. Discover Hautes Alpes Made in the French Alps.
Mornings in Vars are best spent following the sun as it bathes the Les Escondus, La Mayt and Peyrol ski areas in glorious golden light, then make your way up to the Crêtes de Chabrières, from where you can admire some of the highest peaks in the Alps. From here, continue along the Valbelle valley, from where you can link up with the resort of Risoul. On the way back, descend the famous Olympic run plunging down to Sainte-Marie before reaching the slopes of Les Peyniers, renowned for its forests of larch which keep the snow in pristine condition.
