The high-altitude ski area of Orcières-Merlette is blessed with a wild beauty on the border between the Northern and Southern Alps and at the crossroads of the Dauphiné and Provence. Here is a land of plentiful sunshine and snow and a distinctly southerly outlook on the edge of the Parc des Ecrins, with its highest peak (Le Drouvet) at 2,655m. Further south, you come to the mythical 4,000m peaks of the Oisans and then to famous Mont Ventoux, the emblematic giant of Provence. This sun-blessed resort has its own Palais des Sports, an indoor sports arena which provides the perfect setting in which to relax after a day on the slopes.
